In this episode of Triggre Weekend Masterclass, Eddie shows you how to extend “Patty Portal”, our free self-service employee portal template, by automatically sending SMS alerts for sick leave updates. In the previous tutorial, we added a system for reporting sick leave to the portal. This extension builds on that by automatically sending supervisors an SMS in addition to the email whenever a sick leave update is submitted. The SMS is sent by CC’ing the existing email to an SMS provider’s email-to-text address, which then delivers it as a text message — no API required. We used ClickSend for this example.
